Welcome back to Greg Bulmash News. I’m your anchor, Harry Ramsbottom. Greg’s “year of creativity” posts have been silent for months, but Greg recently made some big changes. For the full story, we take you to our reporter on the scene, Annabelle Castro.
Thank you, Harry.
As we all know, the “year of creativity” took a turn for the worse in March when Greg’s mother passed. According to Greg “trying to keep up with work, my own grief, and supporting my family through theirs, a number of the year of creativity projects fell by the wayside.”
According to Greg, he decided to retire in April and gave his employer 30 days notice. Wanting to leave on good terms, he threw himself into finishing up a big project before his last day. After leaving, he gave himself some time to decompress and lay down some of the groundwork to reboot the year of creativity, such as rebooting bulmash.com as his primary website and launching Bulmash Media LLC to provide an umbrella for his projects.
“I’ve been branding on clever social handles and domain names for 18+ years, changing them a few times during that time, but not on my own name. I’m taking my name back and building my personal brand on it instead of some handle or domain that doesn’t contain my name,” said Bulmash.
For the last 7 weeks, he has been taking classes in drawing, music theory, music composition and production, and animation. There’s not much output yet, mostly some blog posts at bulmash.com, but he says this is all in preparation for a larger content push in 2025.
“I’m laying down more fundamentals and getting comfortable with my tools,” said Bulmash. “For example, though I’m an experienced Inkscape user, I took a ‘master class’ in it to expand the breadth and depth of my knowledge of its tools. I’m not afraid to suck and put out ‘progress check’ content, but I’m giving myself the rest of 2024 to level up first.”
What does Bulmash expect to start putting out in 2025? He says his goal is to generate 3 to 5 songs and 3 to 5 short animated films by the end of 2025, using that practice to find ways to speed up his processes and deliver 3 to 5 times as much content in 2026.
Bulmash has said he doesn’t plan to post to LetMyPeopleCode.com much as it was one of the clever brand names he’s trying to move away from. Fans and friends can find him posting progress reports and new work at bulmash.com.
