A recruiter hit me up for a developer role and I told them I was focused on Developer Relations, primarily Developer Advocacy. They asked what a Developer Advocate does.
Developer Advocates write code samples, demos, and tutorials, give conference/meetup talks, organize events, run workshops, staff expo booths, host webinars, represent the interests of external developers in planning and production, and build awareness and community around the product with external developers.
We’re a combination of product manager, product marketing manager, community manager, tech writer, trainer, developer, and spokesmodel. Some of us are stronger in certain areas than others.
Whaddaya think? Did I cover everything?
